Set your time zone
Overview
Your account has one time zone, and every time in the application is shown in it: the Dashboard, Analytics, Conversations, Live monitor, reports, knowledge base and billing dates, and the rest. "Today" means today in that zone.
You don't usually have to set it. When you sign up, AtomicX Chat reads the time zone from your browser and uses it for your account. If it couldn't, the onboarding page detects it again and shows it under Time zone, where you can change it before you click Finish setup.
The same time zone is used by Calendar for your booking hours and by MemberX for event times. Changing it on the Calendar setup or Club settings page changes it for the whole account.
Visitors' own time zones come from their browser. When a visitor's time zone differs from yours, the conversation header shows both. For example, your time zone is America / Eastern Time and a visitor in California starts a chat at 9:00 AM their time. You see it as started at 12:00 PM, followed by "(9:00 AM visitor time, America/Los_Angeles)".
Steps
- Click Plan & limits in the sidebar. Only account Owners see this page.
- Under Organization information, find Time zone.
- Choose your zone from the list, for example America / Eastern Time, America / Central Time or Europe / Central European Time. The list is grouped by continent. Choose UTC to go back to UTC.
- Click Save. You'll see Saved. next to the button.
Pages show the new time zone right away.
Tips
- Pick the zone your team works in, so Peak Activity Hours in Analytics lines up with your working day.
- Daily numbers (Analytics Conversation Trends and Detailed Statistics, Messages Today on the dashboard, and the Today and Yesterday filters in Conversations) follow your time zone. Changing it moves chats near midnight to a different day.
- Times are stored in UTC, so changing your time zone never changes your data, only how it's shown.
- DealerX dealerships each have their own Time zone (stores can be in different zones). A new dealership starts with your account time zone.
